    EVENT OVERVIEW

Defense Strategies Institute’s 8th Annual DoW Energy and Power Summit will provide a forum for members of the DoW, Military Services, Federal Government, Industry, and Academia, and other leading stakeholders to enhance energy efficiency, resiliency, affordability, and security across the Department of War and federal government. This “town-hall” style summit will allow attendees to hear first-hand from decision makers and engage in meaningful conversations and discussions surrounding various energy & power initiatives that are aimed at unleashing American Energy Dominance.

About the 2026 DOW ENERGY & POWER SUMMIT

    TOPICS TO BE COVERED

    • The Energy-Defense Nexus: Powering American Dominance in the Age of AI
    • Empowering Warfigther Operations Through Robust and Resilient Installations
    • Accelerating SMR and Microreactor Deployment for Mission Assurance
    • Reducing Operational Energy Dependence in Contested Environments
    • Accelerating Deployment of Resilient Microgrids in DoW Installations
    • Powering the Fleet and Advancing Naval Energy Resilience for the Modern Fight
    • Unleashing Next-Generation Geothermal Energy for DoW Mission Assurance

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND THIS SUMMIT

The current administration’s focus is on “unleashing” American energy and supporting domestic energy production including oil, gas, and nuclear power. They have stressed that American Energy Dominance Is a Strategic Imperative. At the Department of War, the different military services are facing an increasing need for power and energy solutions to fuel facilities, installations, platforms, weapons, equipment, and operations at home and abroad. As military technology develops over time, the power needs of these systems also increase. Next generation planes, ships, tanks, and other platforms will require vast amounts of power and energy to be delivered to the point of need, even in remote, austere environments where traditional fuel supply chains could be a target of attack. The explosive growth of artificial intelligence and its staggering electricity demands has also introduced an entirely new dimension of urgency to the DoW’s energy resilience mission. This year’s DoW Energy & Power Summit will allow attendees to hear first-hand from and converse with key stakeholders across military, government, academia, and industry on how they are addressing various threats while still advancing US energy and power initiatives.

At our Summit You Have the Ability to

Gain Education & Insight: Walk away with knowledge gained from our senior level speakers on some of the complex challenges facing the Energy & Power communities.

Build Partnerships: The agenda is designed to allow for ample networking opportunities and the ability to engage in constructive dialogue among all in attendance.

Influence: Help foster ideas. Share your own insight and knowledge during our interactive sessions. All attendees are encouraged to address our speaker faculty and each other with their questions, comments or ideas.

    Operating Guidance for Government Attendees

DSI’s Summit directly supports DoW and Government priorities by providing a conduit for officials to efficiently reach audiences outside of their respective offices that directly impact their department’s mission success, at no charge to the government, and in an efficient expenditure of time.

DSI’s Summit will provide a forum to address and improve internal and external initiatives, meet with and hear from partner organizations, disseminate vital capability requirements to industry, increase visibility within the larger community, and generally support their mission.

The Summit is open and complimentary to all DoW and Federal employees and is considered an educational and training forum.

(Industry and academia members are charged a fee for admission)

Summit is CLOSED TO PRESS / NO RECORDINGS

Moving AI from Pilot to Production

AI Forward Series: From Pilot Programs to Real Government Operations

Agencies have launched dozens of AI pilots – but many never make it into production. They stall for many reasons, including integration challenges, policy friction, unclear ROI, and the difficulty of embedding AI into real mission workflows.

It is relatively easy to set up a pilot program – target a particular process, make sure the datasets are clean and accessible to your AI tools, upgrade key hardware and software, and test AI-driven outcomes for quality results. But the same steps are arduous and time-consuming when scaling up; untrustworthy data, out-of-date or obsolete infrastructure, and poor identity control systems, to name a few factors, all must be addressed before an AI pilot can be scaled across the enterprise.

Join us as thought leaders from government and industry discuss their own experiences moving from AI pilot programs to agencywide implementations, the challenges they had to overcome, what they would do differently, and the conditions that enabled their successes.

    Learning Objectives:
    • Outline the elements that were improved to start the pilot and assess how much upgrading and
improvement is needed to expand the pilot across the agency
    • Assess the talent available within the agency to implement an enterprise-wide AI
program and the hiring needed to execute
    • Delineate budget requirements and whether performance improvements can generate
savings that can be applied to expand the program

    Complimentary Registration

Please register using the form above or call (202) 237-0300. Participants can earn a training certificate in Business Management and Organization. To receive credit you must arrive on time and participate in the surveys throughout the webinar. Certificates will be e-mailed to registrants.

Stolen Credentials, Stolen Mission: Why Federal Zero Trust Fails Without Identity-First Security

Credential compromise remains the root cause of most federal cyber breaches, yet many agencies still depend on fragmented identity systems, inconsistent MFA enforcement, and legacy applications that cannot support modern authentication. These gaps persist even as Office of Management and Budget and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency push agencies to adopt phishing-resistant MFA and continuous identity validation as part of Zero Trust architecture. IBM Verify addresses this challenge by delivering an adaptive identity platform that unifies authentication, access governance, and risk-based access controls across hybrid environments. With AI-driven anomaly detection, context-aware adaptive MFA, and deep ICAM integration, IBM Verify enables agencies to evaluate identity risk in real time, strengthen access assurance, and significantly reduce credential-based threats.

Webinar | Brave New World: Bid Protests in 2026 and Beyond

    Thursday, July 16, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

    About the Webinar

Any industry insider can tell you that bid protests have become – for good or for ill – an inevitable feature of many procurements. For that reason, successful contractors know how to both successfully assert a protest challenging a competitor’s improper award, and successfully defend against baseless protests brought by their own disgruntled competitors. Smart contractors also understand how to effectively use debriefings, when possible, to gather relevant protest information. The only problem? The rules regarding protests and debriefings have been going through some major changes! Between the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO) and bid protest reform efforts, the protest landscape is likely to look a lot different moving forward. In this webinar, experienced government contracts attorney Maria Panichelli will walk attendees through the most important changes that have already been made, as well as those coming down the road, and how these changes impact protest practice and procedure. Attendees will learn what new aspects of procurement and protests they should be paying attention to, and how to successfully navigate the protest process in this brave new world.
